Roseville Album Quilt

This is what I work on off and on!  This quilt when it is done is going to be for me!  I will find a place to display it.

It is called the Roseville Album Quilt, it is designed by Kim McLean.  I got the pattern from Gloriouscolor.com. I don't know if it is still available though.
These are the two side inner boarders! so nice and bright and colorful!
and this is the top and bottom inner boarders.

I am doing fusible applique on them, so nothing so far is stitched down. I am planning on that for a major winter project!  Some of the colors do not show up to well just yet. but once I get a contrasting thread on them. you will be able to see them a bit better.

And since it is a cold weekend here in Maine, it is a good time to work on it!  I have the first two of the 13 blocks done so far, only eleven more to go!  then the four outer boarders.

oh, these boarders, when they are all stitched and trimmed will finish at 16"x52"  and the block size finished will be 16" blocks. so will be a good size quilt when all is said and done

Primitive Owls

OK, so I finally got my owls done just a bit ago.  I stained them this morning, and while they were drying in the sun, I weeded one of my flower beds!  I just finished up the eyes, and I think that they really came out pretty cute.

I used a heavy dense sludgy mix, so they came out kind of splotchy. But that is how they are supposed to look!  And the eyes are painted on, with a white pencil to highlight the eyelids and beak.

Now on to other things! don't know what yet, but I am sure that I will find something to do!

Owls.

I am working on some more primitive owls. I have them all stitched, tomorrow I get to stain them and then paint on the eyes and beak. really looking  foward to seeing how these guys turn out!

Mountain Lake

OK, so another wet rainy weekend! But I did get things accomplished.  I finished up this next landscape quilt. I like doing these because I can use my imagination.  Everything comes from my mind. not patterns!  Though they would probably come in handy once in awhile.

My next project is working on the one for my Aunts grange fair this summer.  but the part that I have to do is the center of a large circle!  I will have a 16" circle to put four different  pictures in. so will have to make four wedges, one for each. I have never done a landscape that small so will be a real challenge for me.  so wish me luck on it!

Landscape Quilt

It has been a wet and rainy weekend. So I made up this landscape quilt.  I have to do two for the grange for this summer, and it has been such a long time since I made one, or so it seems, that I have to get back in the swing of it.

So this one did not turn out to bad, it sure needs work though!  you probably can not see it from the picture, but I do a lot of thread painting on mine, and the grass if full of thread grass!

I am almost done with the next one also. the next one is done with just about all batiks!  I love working with them for my landscapes. it gives them such a great texture.  I just have to finish the binding and put a hanging sleeve on it and it will be done!

Saturday already!

Where has this week gone to?  It seems like I just got back from NH and a week has gone by already.  I have been busy though. I now have most of my quilts and lap throws listed that I had down at my Aunts, only a few more to go and I will be done.

I also finially finished up my cats!  They took longer than I thought that they would but with everything else going on, I worked on them in bits and pieces.

Now I am working on a few landscape quilts.  I need to do at least two of them for the grange fair down in NH for this summer, and I want to get them done now while I still have time.  I got volunteered to do them again. One of them is going to be hard for me. I am used to working in large areas. the one that she wants is only going to be an 8" wedge. four pictures will make up a circle. for 16" around. I am not used to making my landscapes that small. but I have pleanty of time to play with them. so will see what I can come up with.

Scotties!

This is a set of mug rugs or snack matt that I have made up.  It is wonderfull what you can create by using up your stash! I sure dont know how old the plaid material is, at least a few years. but it sure shows off those scotties!

My Primitive Cats

I finally got my cats done! Thread Bare Primitives has such wonderfull patterns.   I am still a newbie at primitives, but I got along alright. hardest part for me was the nose and eyes!  But I really like how these turned out. I guess you do get better with age!  LOL

busy days!

yes, busy days! I got home Saturday and felt like I was on the computer all day trying to catch up on things!  I have also been trying to work in the yard a bit since we finially have a bit of nice weather. but my back will not let me do to much at a time.

In the meantime, I finially finished up my crows and corn!  I made four more sets of them. all I had to do when I got home was to paint the corn husks, and put the beady little eyes on the crows! so now that is done and I have two sets in esty.

I also listed quite a few quilts. I had them down at my aunts. She thought that she could sell them down there and it didnt work. so I brought them up here and am slowly getting them listed on esty.

now I have the pattern pieces all cut out from a pattern from Barefoot Primitives!  Teh sadie and jinx cats.  this will be another challenge for me. I have never done the primitive noses like these or the eyes either.  but if I am going to learn how to do primities this is something that I am going to have to learn!

so wish me luck!  I will post a picture when I get them done.

Ok, I just finished this, I made this while I was waiting for the paint to dry on the crows and corn.  it took me awhile to figure it out, but I know that I will get faster the more that I do.

this cow pattern is from Threadbare Primitives.  isnt she cute?

She is made from Batik fabrics. I didnt have the homespun to make her. but like the way she turned out

Crows in the Corn

Crows in the Corn

I know that I have been off for a few days. been pretty busy around here. But, I have been working on this new pattern that I got from my Primitive Saltbox. called Crows in the corn. An new technique for me!  But I think that they came out pretty good for a first go-round!

My prim Kitten bowl fillers

ok, so these are the primitive kittens that I finished up yesterday. But, you know what? they look more like lion cubs than kittens. So that it what they are. guess that is how it is in  the world of prims! you are never quite sure what they will look like when they are done
ok, so today, I tried to make the apples from a pattern from salt box primitives. well..........I deffianately used the wrong red! they look more like tomatoes than apples! maybe when I finish them off they will look better.

I am getting into the world of blogging!

Yes, I am finially getting into the wonderful world of blogging!  I know that it will take me time to get used to it. but will see how it goes!

so everyone wish me luck!
