Home again , Home again

Yes, I am home again already. those trips are to short!  But, at least I got away for a little bit.  My aunt had me out in the yard helping her clean up some. and yes, I AM TIRED!  I am so glad that I dont have all of those trees in my yard! wet leaves can get pretty heavy!

So, now I am back and ready to get back to creating again.  I have several ideas in my head that I really want to get to, but I still have to write up those patterns for those last sets of dolls that I did. Maybe later tonight I can get working on them.

In the meantime, the sun was out so I was able to take pictures of the  pumpkins that I did right before I left, and the watermelon bowl fillers.  hopefully just in time for summer decorating!

Now I still have plenty of time to get something done today!  I wonder what kind of trouble I can get into now!

Good Afternoon every one!

So, I decided that I needed a short break. I have come down to Nh to visit with my Aunt. It is only a short trip because I can not leave my husband for to long.  But I just had to get away!  It has been a long winter and I am soooooooooo tired of snow!

so my sewing machine is just going to have to be lonely for a few days.
I did get some watermelon bowl fillers all painted, now I know why I don't do more of them. they just take so long between painting to dry.   they still need a light sanding. but that will not take to long.

I also got a set of pumpkins done up. I use an orange home spun on them and used a cinnamon stick for he stem.  I just want to put a face of sorts on them and they will be done also.  Isn't it a shame that we have to be almost 2 seasons ahead! Her I am working on fall themes and the snow is not gone from this winter!

but I have a few ideas for some different things for me to do. I have some supplies all ordered and they should be at the post office by the time that I pick up my mail on Tuesday. so then I can get started.  I will keep you posted on what  have come up with!

Landscape Quilt

Ok, so I just finished up this landscape today. it is a real simple folk art landscape. A bit different that what I usually do. I think that it came out pretty nice.  I really love making my landscapes.  there is no pattern to follow!  I can just do what ever comes to mind. And, I doubt that I could make a pattern out of them if I tried.  But this is it!

It is all 100% hand appliqued!  and for the quilting, I just used my machine and "outlined" each of the pieces. Nice and simple to do.

My new dolls are finished!

Yes, I have just finished up my new dolls. I made two sets of them. they are both 12 inches tall. that is a bit smaller than I usually make them.  And, I already have plans for my next one!  But these are the dolls that I have made.

This is Silas and Martha, it sure looks like they have been fighting over something! Of course, if you have been married as long as they have, I am sure they fight once in awhile.

and this is Wilbert and Olga. They do look a bit happier. Actually, Wilbert has a smirk on his face! I wonder what he got into!

Another busy day.

Yes, still working on cleaning up some of my craft room, I did get a bunch more material sorter out today. I am close to being done with it, but I am going to take a day or two off from it! but I did get a few shelves cleaned off and a tote almost empty. so that is a real good start for me!

In the meantime, I also got some doll bodies done. they are sitting on my ironing board now to finish drying.  tomorrow I get to get them dressed and finish up the fine tuning on the faces.  hopefully I should be able to get at least one good picture of each to show you! But we will see what tomorrow brings!

Some New Dolls

I am in the process now of designing a few more of my extreme primitive black dolls. I would like to replace the ones that I have sold.  My problem is that I am running out of names!  So if anyone has any ideas for some extreme primitive dolls please leave a comment with your suggestion for a name.  I need both girls and boys names!  If I choose the name that you suggest, I will send you a free pattern of that doll when I get it finished and written up!  so anytime I use one of the names. that person will get a free pattern, even if it is weeks down the road!  So leave a comment with the name of a new doll!  Thank you all.

Spring cleaning?

Yes, I have been working in my craft room this morning and cleaning up some of my old quilt fabric.  I always bought more than I needed for a just in case I messed up.  And, I very seldom used the material again in another quilt. So it is time to find a new home for it.  I am on a face book group where you can post your extras and maybe sell some of it. So it cant hurt to try . as long as someone else can use it, it beats sitting in a tote or in my closet!  But I have done enough for today. tomorrow will come soon enough

Where has the time gone!

I cant believe that I have not posted here since November!  Can I use the excuse that I have been busy?  No not really.

I did change my shop name in November so have been trying to get noticed again. I have also started a web page to sell patterns and finished products on. That plus designing new primitives and dolls!

I have also started selling a few thing whole sale which does keep my pretty busy.  That and shoveling snow has been my winter so far!

I have started working on some more landscape quilts as time permits. And I did put my quilts and landscapes back on my Etsy shop. So I can make a few more landscapes to go back in there. Now that can be a real passion! I love doing my landscapes!  Each one comes right out of my mind, I don't use a pattern, I don't need to. I just let my imagination  flow.

So now I have to get busy. I want that last order finished up tonight so that I can get it in the mail.
